What do we cover in this first release?

Teachers must start securing data!!! There is a special emphasis on showing staff how to keep data secure. Many staff now have laptops and USB pen drives. These often contain student data and other sensitive information but frequently they are unprotected!!! What happens if a laptop is stolen or needs to go for repair? What happens if a USB pen drive is lost or damaged? Who will access this data? What might they do with it? Don't risk it. We show staff the different things thay can do. We show them how to take simple precautions over a range of videos.

Have you ever wondered how a group of people can work effectively on one document? For example, suppose one person writes a policy document and wants others to look at it, comment on it, suggest changes and return it. How do you pull everyone's suggestions together easily? There is a complete set of tools in Word that allows collaborative working!! We show you step-by-step how to use these powerful Reviewing tools in a complete set of videos.

On-screen and paperless marking is becoming more and more important as Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) are rolled out across all schools for September 2008. How can students send you a file, that you can annotate and review and mark actually on the computer (without printing it off), and send back to them, in such a way that they can see their original document as well as your comments? We show you how to do exactly this using the reviewing tools.

Do your staff need to keep records in Excel? For example, do they need to know how to convert numbers into grades or how to count the number of pupils who got a certain grade? We go through these types of things in detail in our videos as teachers see and then work through an example.
